Guitarist Bill Frisell, whose "Unspeakable" won a 2005 Grammy
Award for best contemporary jazz album, will be at Lisner Auditorium
on Friday with the Unspeakable Orchestra.
However, that may be about as close as orchestra gets to album, a
collaboration with visionary producer Hal Willner featuring
meticulous studio overdubs and edits as strings -- Frisell's six,
along with a classical trio -- melded electronics and dance
grooves. An "Unspeakable" tune or two might pop up, but most of the
material will be new.
"It won't have much relation at all to that 'Unspeakable' album,"
Frisell freely admits.
