Two reports released Monday contained a mixed bag of news regarding the number of Hoosiers diagnosed with cancer and the likelihood of them dying from the disease.

Vanderburgh County continues to have an overall cancer rate that is higher than the state and national averages, while newly diagnosed cases of lung cancer were down slightly.

Indiana reported a lower statewide cancer incident rate in general compared with the national average, but Hoosiers were more likely to die from cancer.
