Article: MAJOR CHANGES `REFOCUS' ST. MARY'S

St. Mary's Health System on Friday announced several major changes that officials said are designed to prepare it for the next generation of health care and maintain its strength in the local health care market.

The immediate impact will mean about 125 patients at Regina Continuing Care and the Downtown campus St. Mary's Riverside will have to move by Nov. 21. And 245 employees, mostly assigned to skilled nursing units at the Downtown and East Side campuses, could be out of a job by early 2004.

Inpatient registered nurses at St. Mary's Medical Center will not be affected.
