Article: SUMMER MUSICALS `HOW TO SUCCEED' AND `CHICAGO' OFFER SEASON OF EXCITING FIRSTS

Everything old is new again. And then some. Such is the case with the 2004 summer musicals.

The Evansville-Vanderburgh School Corp. and its Public Education Foundation are presenting "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying."

The Warrick County School Corp. and its Warrick Public Education Foundation are presenting "Chicago."

Both shows are firsts as summer productions.

"How to Succeed" premiered on Broadway in 1961; "Chicago" premiered on Broadway in 1975.

Both had successful revivals, with "How to Succeed" receiving a Best Revival of a Musical Tony nomination in 1995, and "Chicago" winning the Best Revival Tony in 1997. And both Broadway hits spawned movies.
