Article: COMPETITION IS INTENSE IN PERRY COUNTY ELECTION

Voters will head to the polls in three days, but candidates in Perry County have little time to rest as Election Day approaches.

County Commissioners Jody Fortwendel and Dale Sprinkle will face off against political newcomer Don Sherry in the race for County Commissioner.

Meanwhile the race for Perry County Council at-large provides voters with a number of choices, as incumbents Merle Doogs and Steve Goodson take on former County Council member Larry Joe Peter, former County Commissioner candidate Bob Ramsbottom and newcomers Jim Meek and Carolyn Poehlein to fill three at-large seats.

Fortwendel, 53, a Democrat from Tell City, Ind., is seeking a third term as County Commissioner District 3.
