Article: WITH VICTORIES BY MUSGRAVE AND NIX, GOP TAKES CONTROL OF COMMISSIONERS

Four years of Democratic control of the Vanderburgh County Commissioners came to a screeching halt Tuesday night, as victories by Republicans Cheryl Musgrave and Bill Nix gave the GOP all three seats on the panel.

Musgrave, county assessor for the last 10 years, handed Democratic incumbent David Mosby, a former city councilman, his first defeat in a local election. In the other race, Nix out-polled Democratic County Councilman Royce Sutton and claimed the seat being vacated by Democrat Catherine Fanello.

Musgrave, Nix and Republican County Commissioner Suzanne Crouch clasped hands and accepted cheers during a jubilant GOP celebration
