Purdue University has a new place -- Discovery Park -- to
facilitate research, new learning strategies and new opportunities to
explore fields off the campus boundaries. Ironically, the largest
building in the park -- the Birck Nanotechnology Center -- will house
the very smallest projects.
Expected to be completed late this summer, the nanotechnology
center will be dedicated to the emerging science and technology of
building electronic circuits and devices from single atoms and
molecules.
The research work currently is spread across the campus. Once the
new building is completed, most of the work will be contained in the
center, said spokeswoman Deborah Starewich.
