Area residents will get to experience some genuine aviation
history this week at Evansville Regional Airport.
The B-17 Flying Fortress Sentimental Journey, a fully restored
World War II vintage airplane, will be at the airport from noon to 8
p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday, weather
permitting.
It will be available for public tours, and $5 donations will be
requested. Tour proceeds benefit the plane and the Arizona Wing of
the Commemorative Air Force, a nonprofit organization based in Mesa,
Ariz.
The airplane, which was on display this past week in Davenport,
Iowa, and East Alton, Ill., will be parked at the Tri-State Aero ramp
during its Evansville visit.
