Clint Barmes was due for some good news.
On Tuesday, he got it.
Doctors examined X-rays of Barmes' collarbone and told him he
should be back at shortstop soon for the Colorado Rockies.
Soon -- as in 2 1/2 weeks or so.
"They said I could hit off a tee today, play soft-toss on
Wednesday and probably start taking batting practice with the team on
Friday," Barmes said Tuesday before heading out to Coors Field. "I'm
pretty excited."
