Article: BARMES ANXIOUS TO GET BACK IN SWING

Clint Barmes was due for some good news.

On Tuesday, he got it.

Doctors examined X-rays of Barmes' collarbone and told him he should be back at shortstop soon for the Colorado Rockies.

Soon -- as in 2 1/2 weeks or so.

"They said I could hit off a tee today, play soft-toss on Wednesday and probably start taking batting practice with the team on Friday," Barmes said Tuesday before heading out to Coors Field. "I'm pretty excited."

And who could blame him?

When Barmes fell and broke his left collarbone June 6, he was told
