I Remember

I remember during the Depression, we would go to the auto show at the Coliseum, where they would show the next year's models of automobiles. I would collect the pamphlets and brochures of the cars.

My dad would glue the car pictures to thin wood, cut them out and put a block of wood behind them so they would stand up. Those were my toys.

Years later, I ran into a childhood friend at the mall. He reminded me of the wooden cars. They had left a lasting impression on him.
