Herbs grown in your garden bring a special meaning to the season, as they play an important role in the preparation of holiday fare and decoration.

Throughout history, herbs were ingredients in recipes, cosmetics, dyes and perfumes.

Although the dry weather has played havoc with perennials and annuals, herbs have a marvelous survival rate, as they are able to endure erratic weather patterns and poor soil. That doesn't mean herbs can survive long periods of drought, but an occasional watering will revive the plants.
