Another Fort Campbell soldier has died fighting the war in Iraq,
the Army said Monday.
Staff Sgt. Christopher J. Vanderhorn, 37, of Pierce, Wash., died
on Jan. 1 when a roadside bomb exploded near his Humvee in As Sinia,
Iraq, as he was patrolling, the Department of Defense said.
Vanderhorn was assigned to the Army's 1st Battalion, 187th
Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division.
Vanderhorn entered the Army on Sept. 11, 1996, and arrived at Fort
Campbell in February 2004, the Army said. He is survived by a wife,
Teresa, and two children. He is also survived by his parents, Robert
and Nancy Vanderhorn of Bellevue, Wash.
