NFL great Jerry Rice, former Giants star Will Clark, World Series
and war hero Jerry Coleman and Stanford basketball sensation
Jennifer Azzi have been elected to the Bay Area Sports Hall of Fame,
BASHOF president and CEO Thomas Martz announced Tuesday.
Elected by a panel of 70 Bay Area journalists and broadcasters,
they will be honored at BASHOF's 27th annual enshrinement banquet in
April 2007 at the Westin St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco.
Rice, who played 16 years for the 49ers and four at the close of
his 20-year career with the Oakland Raiders, holds every meaningful
record -- 12 in all -- in the books for pass receiving, as well as
the career record for touchdowns receiving (198) ...
