Will Lael Stable's Showing Up run in the May 6 Kentucky Derby at
Churchill Downs?
Saturday, after the unbeaten (3-for-3) colt posted a hard-earned
1a-length victory in Keeneland's $325,000, Grade II Lexington Stakes
for 3-year-olds going 1 1/16 miles, his trainer, Barclay Tagg
repeatedly was asked that question.
Initially, he seemed reluctant to run, emphasizing that Showing Up
is not a robust individual. And that he doesn't officially turn 3
until May 5.
Then Tagg left the door open.
"Probably good judgment and good sense would say not to run. But
there is only one Kentucky Derby. He's done everything we've asked of
him so you think you have to give him a chance," said Tagg.
