Article: WHIRLPOOL RETIREES GET OVERDUE VACATION PAY

Some Whirlpool retirees received extra money in their pension checks a week ago, thanks to an arbitrator's ruling that they were entitled to some past vacation pay.

Lyman K. Roll, a Whirlpool retiree, said he was one of the retirees who received a part of the award, which for him amounted to five weeks of vacation pay, or about $3,680 in gross pay.

Roll said about 120 retirees received money as part of the arbitrator's ruling. The amount they received depended on how much vacation pay they were eligible for in 2005. Roll said he had heard the total amount of money awarded to retirees by the ruling was about $700,000.
