Article: FIRE IN THE SKY

It's not exactly the rockets' red glare or bombs bursting in air, but the Freedom Festival fireworks display on Evansville's riverfront should be plenty stirring.

It'll be about 28 minutes of explosions; roughly 15,000 shells launched from four barges.

The show will be timed to music that was played by legendary American disc jockeys, including Alan Freed and Wolfman Jack.

"It has its own little theme going on," said Clarence Mann, the WFIE-NBC14 production manager who is in his seventh year of coordinating the fireworks.
