A freshman and a sophomore hit key free throws to keep Mater Dei in the lead at Reitz on Wednesday night in a girls' basketball game.

The Wildcats wound up holding off the Panthers 55-46 behind freshman Alissa Schenk and sophomore Jamie Tekoppel. Schenk make 8 of 11 free throws, all in the fourth quarter. Tekoppel made 4 of 6, also all in the fourth period.

Schenk wound up with eight points and Tekoppel five as the Wildcats broke free from a 34-34 tie. The duo's accuracy allowed Mater Dei to ease out to a lead that stayed from three to nine points.
