Article: ONCE UPON A TIME, THE OSMONDS ROCKED

I never liked boy bands. Never liked the silly ice cream suits, sappy cookie cutter songs and the fact that all of these groups were marketed strictly to girls.

Where, I asked, was the musical credibility? I saw these "bands," but I never saw them play any instruments. Never heard of them actually writing the music they performed.

I grew up in the '70s. Oh, yeah: There was a lot of disco in those days, but there was also a lot of music. In the '70s, Paul McCartney made his best solo albums. Rock classics like Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven" and Aerosmith's "Dream On" electrified the night. I liked Yes, Pink Floyd, The Osmonds, Three Dog -- wait a minute. Stop!

Huh?! The Osmonds?!
