Starting an organic garden literally begins from the ground up.

It's not enough to discontinue the use of harmful man-made insecticides and pesticides to be considered organic. Oh, no. Everything, and I mean everything from the soil to the seeds to the treatment of pests and weeds, must have originated in an organic world (as in, only found in nature).

Good advice for starting any new garden endeavor and definitely in this instance is to start small. This gives you an opportunity to try organic gardening techniques before committing to a major overhaul.
