They're both new to the Evansville Philharmonic Chorus, but Linda
Spevacek's "If" and "Fanfare: a Celebration in Song" are familiar
friends to Joseph Eunkwan Choi, the group's conductor.
Choi conducted the world premieres for both commissions in 2004,
as interim music director for the Orpheus Male Chorus in Phoenix,
Ariz. A year later he came to Evansville as assistant conductor for
the Evansville Philharmonic and conductor for the Philharmonic Chorus
and Youth Orchestra.
He'll conduct the Evansville premieres of "If" and "Fanfare"
Saturday as part of an 8 p.m. choral concert at St. Joseph Catholic
Church, 610 E. Virginia St.
