The Lone Ranger had Tonto, his trusty sidekick played on TV by an actual Mohawk Indian, Jay Silverheels.

Dick Fuss had Mary, the wife of 42 years he tragically lost in 2001 when she was prescribed the wrong medication.

They had no children, but Mary - who collected hundreds of coffee cups and Pillsbury Doughboy figurines - understood her husband's fascination with "Hi-Yo Silver!"

From their home northwest of Chicago, she would ride along to his "shows," where he answered questions about the masked man and displayed his memorabilia, from toys to comic books, costumes, rings, clocks, even a coin bank, circa 1950, that shoots money into the back of the Lone Ranger's horse.
