When Dr. David Page hears a negative drug study publicized on
television news, he pays attention.
Page, who works at Oak Hill family practice for Deaconess Medical
Group, said doctors surf the Internet for information on drugs they
prescribe. Doctors know when a drug has had negative results
published. "We take them into consideration every time we see them,"
said Page.
Dr. Tricia Baird, who practices at Integrity Family Physicians,
suggests that patients who hear about a negative study on one of
their prescribed medications take a step back and evaluate the
situation before panicking.
