INDIANAPOLIS - Saying the planned tax-rebate check should be
converted into a fall tax credit, Indiana House Republicans on
Tuesday called for a special session of the Legislature to pass
additional property tax relief.
The minority House Republicans have proposed $200 million in tax
relief on top of the $300 million the Legislature already approved
this year in rebate checks.
Only the governor can call a special session of the Legislature.
While Gov. Mitch Daniels has said he is considering that idea, his
administration is pursuing relief measures of its own.
