NOMINATIONS are being sought for the 25 elected teacher members to
join the General Teaching Council for England (GTC).
The current term of office of the present 25 elected teacher
members expires on August 31 next year.
New council members take up their places next September and
nominations are sought from teachers in primary, secondary and
special schools.
The GTC has a total of 64 members.
The election for the 25 elected teacher members runs alongside the
process for stakeholder bodies to nominate non-elected members.
Non-elected members include 17 people representing key education
organisations, for example, faith groups, parents, governors, local
education authorities, the Equal ...
