Article: Security guard injured as gang attacks

By Julie Harding j.harding ROBBERS escaped with around GBP25,000 after attacking a security guard as he left a Bristol bank carrying cash boxes.

The gang struck at 11.10am yesterday, just as the Securicor guard was leaving a branch of Lloyds TSB in Wells Road, Knowle.

The security firm is offering a "substantial" reward for information leading to the conviction of the robbers.

As reported in later editions of yesterday's Evening Post, one man approached the guard and forced him to give up the cash boxes he was carrying. The guard did not need hospital treatment but suffered a wrist injury.
