A schoolboy has spent more than half his life waiting for treatment for a life-threatening allergy.

Ten-year-old Scott Ritchie has an allergy to peanuts that could trigger a severe asthma attack at any time.

Doctors referred him to a specialist clinic at Glasgow Royal Infirmary when he was four and gave his mother an emergency injection kit to save his life if he had an attack.

However, almost six years later, he has still not been given a first appointment with the specialist and health bosses have now told him to look elsewhere for treatment.
