AT midnight tomorrow the Xbox will hit the shelves. It is a
billion-dollar gamble by the world's richest man, Microsoft chief
Bill Gates.
He hopes to repeat his company's computer success with games
consoles. But it will take more than megabucks to win the war against
the might of gaming juggernauts Sony and Nintendo.
Charlie Ambrose, of CA Games in Glasgow's west end, said: "There
is no doubt the Xbox will sell - and sell well.
"Serious gamers have been snapping up imported machines and games
for months and paying well over the (pounds) 299 UK price. But
Microsoft won't find it easy."
