A GLASGOW millionaire has donated (pounds) 250,000 to put
underprivileged youngsters through university.
Cash and carry tycoon Yaqub Ali also persuaded six other
businessmen to contribute another (pounds) 150,000 towards the
scholarship trust in Pak-istan.
Now he is taking a group of Scots politicians to his homeland to
set up the fund.
Mr Ali, who was named one of Britain's wealthiest Asians last
year, will be joined by Frank McAveety MSP, Mike Weir MP, Bashir
Maan, chairman of Strathclyde Police Board, former Scottish Education
Minister Raymond Robertson and Lord Strathclyde.
The Punjab-based Pak-istan Higher Education Scholarship Trust will
