HUNDREDS of thousands of people lined the streets of London today
to pay their last respects to the Queen Mother.
The haunting sound of 128 pipers filled the air as her funeral
procession made its way to Westminster Abbey.
People bowed their heads as the Queen Mother's coffin was borne on
the same gun carriage used for her husband George VI's funeral 50
years ago.
As the procession continued, the abbey's bell was sounding every
minute, once for each year of her life.
The music drifted into the abbey where royalty and VIPs were among
more than 2000 gathered for the ceremonial service.
Last to arrive was the Queen.
