THE Queen Mother's coffin arrived at Westminster Hall today to
begin its official lying in state.
And a loving message from the Queen to her mother brought a human
touch to the greatest Royal funeral procession for 50 years.
A card on top of the coffin read simply "In loving memory,
Lilibet".
Amid all the pomp and splendour, it was a reminder of the Queen's
personal sense of loss after her mother's "wonderful life".
The Queen was dressed all in black and when the coffin arrived at
the Palace of Westminster a military band played the National Anthem.
Prince Charles, who was very close to his grandmother, appeared
distraught as he walked behind the coffin.
