MOORS murderer Myra Hindley, the woman who personified evil for
many people, has died in hospital.
Hindley, 60, had respiratory failure in West Suffolk Hospital at
Bury St Edmunds, where she had been taken from nearby Highpoint jail
on Tuesday.
A chain smoker, she had suffered ill-health for much of her 36
years behind bars, with angina, strokes and osteoporosis. She
survived a heart attack earlier this month.
Hindley and her insane lover, Glasgow-born Ian Brady, 64, were
sentenced to life in jail in 1966 for the sexual abuse, torture and
murder of three children. In 1987 they confessed to two more child
killings.
Hindley was often dubbed "the world's most evil woman" and never
