Article: Spaniards reckon city is holiday hotspot after Champions League fiesta; Ole for Glasgow

GLASWEGIANS have been drawn to Spain's hotspots for generations now jet-setting Spaniards are set to say 'ola' to a holiday in our city.

Having had a taste of Glasgow with this year's Champions League Final at Hampden in May, Spaniards are taking advantage of new package tours and swapping their Costas for Clydeside.

Spanish short break company Viajes El Corte Ingles has ranked Glasgow alongside Paris and London in its 2002/2003 winter brochure.

The tour operator, backed by Spanish national airline Iberia, has its article on Glasgow spread over two pages. Previously the city warranted only a passing mention in Spanish brochures.
