YOKO Ono, widow of the late John Lennon, is backing a health campaign in Glasgow that is bringing a message of hope to local people.

Healthy Castlemilk today unveiled a billboard dedicated to the residents of the housing estate on the south side of the city.

The launch coincides with the anniversary of the former Beatle's death in 1980.

Artist Yoko has allowed the charity to use lyrics from the Christmas classic Happy Christmas (War is Over) for the poster.

She has also sent a personal message of support to people in the area, in advance of a New Year message which will be sent worldwide.
