Retired NBA star Charles I-Ain't-No-Role-Model'' Barkley is a
dangerous entertainer who often is too loose with his lips.
Barkley's criticism of the Rev. Jesse Jackson in the current
Sports Illustrated is more than an attempt to assassinate the
character of an outstanding diplomat, a longtime human-rights
activist, an excellent preacher and a highly respected--though flawed-
-defender of mainstream morality.
It is also a rejection of anybody who dares to try to do good
things against great odds.
What incensed me most is Barkley saying, Jesse had his chance, but
he hasn't done enough with it. Instead of running for president,
which was stupid because he wasn't going to win, he should have ...
