ANGUS FARQUHAR Director, NVA

GOD might have made the first decree "Let there be light", but it's Angus Farquhar who has picked up the baton (or should that be torch? ) and run with it around Glasgow.

As director of maverick environmental arts group NVA, he masterminded the lighting of the winter darkness through the light festival at Hidden Gardens.

The peace garden behind Tramway in Pollokshields is also the brainchild of NVA, and the regeneration of this 5000sq m wasteground site has proved as popular as it is interesting.

Glasgow residents might best remember Farquhar as the man who made the Govan shipyard cranes dance in the 1995 site-specific work, Stormy Waters.
