FOUR Glasgow youngsters proved they have a bright future ahead of
them when they wrote a script for River City.
The teenagers won the chance to write for Scotland's favourite
soap after beating hundreds of hopefuls to win a Scottish Screen
competition.
Mhari McNeil, 15, Chloe Brolly, 15, Andrew Simpson, 14, and Calum
McLenachan, 13, won a place on the weeklong Writing for Soap workshop
when their short-film screenplay ideas reached the final of the First
Writes competition run by BBC Scotland.
River City writers Marc Pye and James McIntyre hosted the
workshop, which was attended by seven other youngsters from around
Scotland.
