THE controversial musical Jerry Springer - The Opera is coming to Glasgow.

The hit stage show will open at the King's Theatre next March.

A spokesman for the theatre said: "This is a huge show that will really grab the attention.

"We expect it to be a sellout."

Jerry Springer - The Opera is a parody of confessional TV shows. It takes a series of outrageous confessions and mixes them with music.

In the show - one of the most talked-about ever to hit London's West End - God, Jesus, Satan and Adam and Eve are reduced to the status of brief-time celebrities on television.

Reviews for the show, which has pastiche opera music running through it, have been mostly positive.
