Article: Thousands are too afraid to enter city centre after 10pm Six out of 10 residents won't go for a night out, says survey

AROUND the world Glasgow is seen as a bright, vibrant city, home to some of the UK's most stylish shops and trendiest bars and restaurants.

But to hundreds of thousands of its own residents the city centre is a frightening place where they fear being attacked or robbed.

According to a new survey, almost 60-per cent of Glasgow residents never venture into the city centre after 10pm.

And more than threequarters of people who regularly stay at home believe the streets are unsafe after dark.

Even out of those who regularly go to pubs and clubs, only 46-per cent feel safe in the centre of town at night.
