AROUND the world Glasgow is seen as a bright, vibrant city, home
to some of the UK's most stylish shops and trendiest bars and
restaurants.
But to hundreds of thousands of its own residents the city centre
is a frightening place where they fear being attacked or robbed.
According to a new survey, almost 60-per cent of Glasgow residents
never venture into the city centre after 10pm.
And more than threequarters of people who regularly stay at home
believe the streets are unsafe after dark.
Even out of those who regularly go to pubs and clubs, only 46-per
cent feel safe in the centre of town at night.
The findings, from the council's Citizens' Panel, show thousands
