CUSTOMERS will be banned from some cyber cafes in Glasgow and Edinburgh if they turn up wearing baseball caps.

The new dress code is being piloted in both cities by easyInternetCafes, which offers customers access to a computer to surf the web.

The chain was launched six years ago by Stelios Haji-Ioannou, the founder of the successful no-frills easyJet airline.

If the pilot scheme is successful, it will be introduced throughout the chain's 41 UK cyber cafes.

Bosses at the cafe chain have become increasingly concerned following recent thefts and claim the cap has become associated with "deviant behaviour".
