AIR traffic controllers have a responsible and demanding role to
play in the safe passage of aircraft. Issuing instructions, advice
and information to pilots by radio, their main duty is to keep air
traffic flying safely and efficiently.
As part of the National Air Traffic Service, they look after more
than 160million passengers each year on airplanes in UK air space.
ATCOs need to deal quickly with changing flight plans and unexpected
events such as the weather, unscheduled traffic and emergency
situations.
ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS TO APPLY to be an air traffic controller,
