FANS of chain-smoking hard-nosed detective Jane Tennison are
finally going to get what they've been waiting for - another offering
of Prime Suspect.
But this is the last case the alcoholic workaholic will sink her
teeth into, which actress Helen Mirren says is fine by her.
"It's great, it's the most fantastic job, it's a great role and I
let go of it with great regret. But you have to be realistic and I've
always wanted Prime Suspect to be realistic above all else.
"It has its feet in the real, real world, as it is today in
Britain. That was the case with the first episode 15 years ago, and
each one subsequently. It becomes unrealistic if it goes on forever.
