HOUSE prices in Scotland have soared to twice the UK average, new
figures out today claim.
The average price of a property in Scotland is now close to
GBP150,000, according to Government figures.
In August, average house price values in Scotland rose by more
than three and a half times July's rate, indicating that a quarter
point rise in UK base rates to 4.75-per cent in August has failed to
stifle demand north of the border.
