EAST Kilbride is 60 years old this year - and there's widespread
agreement that it has been a success story. But what do the people
who really matter think of the town?
What do they like about East Kilbride? What don't they like?
And how did they end up in East Kilbride in their first place?
We took to the streets of Scotland's biggest new town to ask local
residents for their opinions.
A retired police officer, a florist, a teacher, a dentist, a
businessman, an office worker, a cafe worker, a school pupil, a
butcher and a hairdresser - we asked them all.
As ANN FOTHERINGHAM - herself an East Kilbride native -
discovered, the residents largely think EK is OK . . . though there
