GLASGOW Airport has started the year on a high with a record
number of long-haul passengers.
The number of passengers on long-haul flights out of Scotland's
biggest and busiest airport last month soared by almost a quarter to
38,237.
The three most popular long-haul destinations were Dubai, New York
and Toronto.
Overall passenger numbers for January grew by 1.6-per cent to
534,302.
While long-haul flights attracted a 23-per cent rise in business
last month, overall international traffic triggered a more modest
rise of 5.4-per cent.
The three favourite short-haul destinations were Amsterdam, Dublin
and Barcelona.
