R iverside Cafe at Lower Moutere is the winner of the Nelson Mail
best cafe garden for February and wins the first prize voucher for
$200 from competition sponsor Wilkins and Field Mitre 10.
The guest judge, Nelson Mail editor Bill Moore said the River Cafe
garden reflected a distinctive Nelson approach in its design and
creativity while hot contender Milliways Cafe of Takaka was also a
stylish entry.
Both cafes have relatively new gardens with Riverside Cafe just
finishing its second summer after opening in December 2000.
The cafe has a relaxed, informal style with a raised wooden deck
that overlooks the cafe garden.
