Two artists living in the same Motueka street are exhibiting at
the Suter's McKee Gallery.
The exhibition, Jazz and Flax, features hand-coloured photographs
by Grant Douglas and digital imagery by Verena Portmann .
Douglas says he photographed everyday items, and highlighted them
with coloured paint.
The items, mostly portrayed up close, included the circuitry of an
old stereo, a chocolate box liner, and a cut banana palm stem.
"They're semi-abstract and close up, things we see every day but
in minute close detail,'' he says.
