Nelson supermarket Fresh Choice last week introduced its winter
range of red wines to a gathering of Nelson wine buffs. Wine writer
Neil Hodgson took Nelson Mail sub-editor Peter Gibbs along for the
ride.
Last week I was like a pig wallowing in mud. How could I turn down
an invitation to a tasting of 24 red wines? I didn't even try
justifying not going. In fact I took along a writer from the Nelson
Mail who likes a drop of wine as well to keep me company.
Peter Gibbs knows what he likes but probably can't tell you why he
likes it so it was a bit of education, a bit of fun and jolly hard
work for Peter; after all he has not quite learnt the fine art of
spitting wine to maintain at least a ...
