INDIANAPOLIS--The biggest surprise of the first weekend of
Indianapolis 500 qualifying might be the failure of Team Kool Green
to assert itself.
When rain forced a postponement of Indianapolis 500 qualifying
Sunday until next weekend, Team Green teammates Paul Tracy and Dario
Franchitti were two of the biggest names not yet in the field.
But team general manager Kim Green said he expects the team and
its two CART stars to overcome their troubles when qualifying resumes
next Sunday to fill the remaining nine slots on the grid.
While polesitter Bruno Junqueira led the 24 cars that qualified
Saturday, Tracy was sidelined by a crash in morning practice.
