Article: Artist creates sculpture to honor law enforcement in San Dimas

According to sculptor Richard Myer, "art gives beauty to the
world." And, in the case of a new bronze commission currently being
completed by Myer, it will bring additional distinction to the city
of San Dimas.
The bronze, entitled "Our Neighborhood Sheriff's Station," will
grace the grounds of the brand-new Los Angeles County Sheriff's
Department facility in San Dimas.
Sgt. Darcie Sandoval and Deputy David Flores posed as the models
for the life-sized figures of the two law-enforcement agents in the
sculpture. The boy and girl figures are Myer's 11-year-old grandson,
Jefferson Astle, and Laura White, a 9-year-old Glendora girl.
