NEW YORK--What becomes a legend most? Certainly, it's not being
called one. Al Pacino plucks a rusty looking harmonica out of the
pocket of his leather jacket and plays a quick country tune. "Now,
this instrument is a legend," he says, holding up the harmonica for
emphasis. "I'm just an actor."
At age 62 with four big movies in the can--including "Insomnia,"
opening Friday--he's an actor at a crossroads.
On one hand, Pacino has a career that spans decades and includes
such screen classics as "The Godfather" saga, "Scarface," "Scent of a
Woman" and "Heat." On the other, he is the new father of twins with
longtime companion and actress Beverly DeAngelo.
